ORAL PRESENTATION GUIDELINES:
Your cereal commercial will be 60 seconds long (=/- 10 seconds) and MUST contain these elements:
1) An explanation how your cereal is connected to your book. You need to tell us how the title/shape of your cereal relates to your book, either through the plot, symbols, character elements, etc. There MUST be a connection.
2) A short summary of the story...without giving away the ending. What we call the "dust jacket" summary. Just enough to persuade us to go read the book ourselves (20 seconds or so)
3) A description of your cereal using persuasive dialogue to convince us to buy your cereal - price, where to buy, any thing else you think would sell your product.
4) Any other items you feel will enhance your presentation: A jingle, a costume, etc.
THESE ARE NOT REQUIRED!!!!
5) A written or typed script of your dialogue. You don't have to memorize the entire speech, but you should know it well enough that you're not reading it word for word during your presentation. You MUST make eye contact with the audience. Make sure you have TWO COPIES, one for you and one for me
Please be sure to be here on your presentation day. I cannot guarantee that I'll have extra time on future days to fit you in. If you know in advance you'll be gone on one day during the week of, let me know NOW so I can schedule you on a day you will be here.
