VOCABULARY WEEK 2 NOTE:
There is a problem with two of the questions this week on page 3: I accidentally used one word twice, contrary to the rules of the game. So, in fairness:
Question #14 - the answers are "bathe" and "drain"
Question #17 - the answer is "drain"
Question #20 - just before the blank, change the words to say "...we were..."
Free points - it doesn't get any better than that.
TUESDAY SEPT. 19 - NATIONAL TALK LIKE A PIRATE DAY.
LANGUAGE ARTS 1-2
MONDAY: Continue with Bullies: review paragraph 2, craft paragraph 3; vocabulary packet, if time.
HOMEWORK: Vocab: pages 1 & 2 due Wed, 3 & 4 due Friday; Journals due Friday. If you did NOT complete paragraph 3 in class (and you had at least 50 minutes to do that) it is now HOMEWORK and must be ready for tomorrow's class.
TUESDAY - Continue with Bullies text: share paragraph 3, craft closing paragraph. Learn how to set up a paper template; instructions on writing your rough draft.
HOMEWORK: Vocab: pages 1 & 2 due Wed, 3 & 4 due Friday; Journals due Friday. Fully charged computer AND all of your article notes are necessary for tomorrow's class. Don't leave them at home!
WEDNESDAY: Vocabulary Review, Pages 1 & 2; Remaining time to craft your first rough draft of our article summay
HOMEWORK: Vocab pages 3 & 4 due Friday; Journals due Friday. If you did not complete your typed rough draft in class (and you had one full period to do so) it is now homework and is due tomorrow for editing and rewrites.
THURSDAY: Bullies text: Discuss peer editing process; edit reports; rewrite draft one into draft two; second round of editing. Rewrite paper into final draft.
HOMEWORK: Vocab: pages 3 & 4 due Friday; Journals due Friday. Vocabulary Quiz on Friday! If you did not complete your final draft in class today (and you did have plenty of time) it is now homework and is due tomorrow!

HOMEWORK: Wait for your parents to ask you to do a chore. Then, act like it's the worst thing in the world. Wail, moan, etc. Then, after a little of that...die dramatically. and get a signature when you come back to life. 1 signature please, due Wednesday.
TUESDAY B: Check planners for homework signature; begin body awareness exercises
HOMEWORK: Wait for your parents to ask you to do a chore. Then, act like it's the worst thing in the world. Wail, moan, etc. Then, after a little of that...die dramatically. and get a signature when you come back to life. 1 signature please, due Thursday.

HOMEWORK: TWO ASSIGNMENTS: 1) Practice the exercises from today, and review the ones from last week. 2) Select a nursery rhyme; memorize it; be ready to recite it in class USING AT LEAST TWO DIFFERENT TECHNIQUES we've learned in class: pitch, volume, tempo, tone, enunciation, phrasing. Your presentation is your proof that you practiced. Performances on Monday.
